This is going to be your biggest hurdle to someone hiring you.

When I started applying to jobs, I didn’t put down my experience as a PC technician. Recruiters would call me for PC technician jobs instead of e-mail developer jobs.
I got to experience it by going on Fiverr and working for pennies on the dollar for a few months. I could have charged more, but I wanted to put experience as an E-mail Developer on my resume.
I also volunteered to create HTML e-mails for volunteer organizations.

I also created an e-mail for a local coffee business. I tried to get the company to use my HTML e-mail template. The business declined, but I used it in my portfolio and told the story during my interview.
You are going to have to hustle and get creative.
Don’t be afraid to work for pennies and hours to get some experience.
My thought process is that I would trade $5 on Fiverr and a few hours to get experience that I can put on my resume if that trade-off lands me a job making a lot more in six months.
